Engine running good on muffs, slight knocking noise from lower end.
Shifting and all throttle operations performed fine
140psi compression across the board

Was sick for several months but attempting to get on track again, here's the latest intel....
Not even close to NB's painstaking rebuild, that MIGHT come at a later time, just trying to get her dunkled this year.
I have slowly been replacing my tin 66 Starcraft Sunchiefs original 2.5 liter with and "R" drive with a 89' GM 3.0 liter and Alpha 1 drive from a donor glass boat.
Engine pretty much fell into the original foot print with only slight tweaking being needed. Gimbel and thrust plate also mated...

I am having trouble ID'ing the year of my newly acquired 3.0l Mercruiser 130hp engine by serial# to determine exactly what I have. The 3.0l and Alpha1 drive came from a single donor late 80's Renken glass boat and obviously mate up nicely together. I have used the stickeys to no avail.

I think I am mistakenly calling my 66' Sunchief's transom hole as being from an "R" drive when in fact it is from whatever the original drive type is from 1966- my bad I know better but keep refering to it as that....

Retrieved motor, the very last component from donor boat with boom this morning around 7:30am. Went off without a hitch and got it palletized and home by 9:00am. Took some measurements conducted a little prep work and then it decided to rain.
Replacing my 1965 2.5l 110hp Mercruiser coupled to an "R" drive with a 3.0l 135hp Mercruiser and an Alpha1 drive. 2 of the 6 bolt holes don't seem to match up even though hole for bell housing dimension appear the same. Is there one fix more practical than another? Any other issues immediately...
