    Merc I/O pre alpha Tilt/Trim rebuild

    I have a 1979 Glastron with a 140 Merc I/O and the Tilt/Trim is not working. The electric motor spins but there is a grinding noise in the lower part of the casing.     1969 power head to 1989

    I am wondering If I can put a 1971 85hp power head (model 857HC) on a 1989 85hp? Or can I use the electronic tilt/trim on the 1971 unit? The 2 motors look extreamly similar besides the electronics. Thanks in advance.

    I have a no start problem with my 85 chrysler.
