Does any happen to know the gear ratios of both the 1969 Evinrude 25hp Sportster and
the 1968 18hp Fastwin? Might replace the 25 lower with the 18.
I couldn't find info searching the net, and I don't have the factory manuals.

Hello. It's time to change fuel pump on my 69 Evinrude 25hp Sportster.
My question is, will other, newer fuel pumps fit and work on this engine? The mounting holes look the same on newere 25hp Evinrude/Johnsons.
