    Lower end oil vent?

    I have a 1998 50hp Johnson. I just got this motor about a month ago and am trying to service it. The vent screw is stuck. The head has started to strip. Any ideas for getting it loose so I can replace it and the oil? I tryed using an impact driver, but I am afraid of cracking the housing.

    Bying a used motor?

    I'm looking at buying a used motor a 1998 50hp with TnT. Besides seeing it run and checking the compression, what else should I check. They want $950.00 for the motor, controls, oil tank, 18gal fuel tank, and two new batterys. Is this a fair price if it runs good? Yes I'm new at this. Thanks

    1984 60hp Mariner

    I am looking at buying a 1984 60hp Mariner. What should I check before buying. It starts really easy and pumps water out the **** hole ok. Will a cold check of the compression be of any use. My manual says to check fully warmed up. Is't running the motor to fully warmed up on the muffs risky?

    Tang/trigger screw?

    I have a 1971 135hp (1350) that I am getting ready to do a sync and lync on. I the instructions (Clams) it says to adjust the tang or trigger screw. The juck manual I have says to adjust the "throttle pick up screw" is this the same thing?

    Starts with rope but floods out with the key?

    Hi, I have a 1971 25 horse Johnson rope/electric start. The motor starts on the 2nd or 3rd pull everytime. But when I use the electric start it back fires and the motor floods out. I have good spark and the starter seems to be turning the motor as fast as it ever did.
