Hi
Decided to convert my 18 hp evinrude 1959 model to a 1 line system due to convenience.
I have en route a pulse pump and I will drill and tap into the top side plate and fit a threaded barb for the pulse line.
My question is ?
What do I do with the original pressure line which connected to the...
decided to buy another restoration engine as i had a spare one in the garage for parts if needed.
compression is 110 psi on each cylinder and spark is good but not checked if jumping gap etc.
basically this engine was cheap as the gearbox was in bits so i replaced it with the lower section from...
Manage to get a secondhand set of points / condenser for it and fitted this weekend. I broke the fibre part of the points as I was unsure how to attach belt and align the timing marks etc. It basically locked up when I was hand timing the engine so I stripped it down again and noticed the...
Right gentlemen Checked ignition coil and I get readings from the live to an earth point Also readings when I connect between both ht leads Checked the primary coil inside the flywheel which also gives me readings I will post readings if anyone wants them The points have been re set but were...
starts up first time and runs great but due to parts missing in the tiller it will not idle due to creeping past etc
found a shop here in the uk who supplied the spring and friction block which i lubed the tiller and installed.
its now idling when i align the throttle with the start sign on the...
Will remove the flywheel to check coils and magnets on my b7.5 for piece of mine. I will make up a metal plate to hold the f/w still whilst I undo the nut but what do others do ?
right.....first four stroke to tinker on
just picked up and previous owner said it started but wouldnt run long etc
quick look at it and they is no spark at the plugs
this is an early model with no oil light but a stop push switch in its place
am i missing something simple as a neutral switch...
Just restored to working order and it starts first pull and runs perfect but it as parts missing from the tiller . Unfortunately previous owners must have salvage the bits to fix other engines etc I require the spring and the plastic block etc.,. Basically it idles but the twist grip tends to...
My 1967 6 hp as a very loose throttle and if you take your hand off it will go past the position where it should idle and then die. Removed the handle and they is no spring, friction collar nothing etc Are these cheap to buy and ship to the uk.? Motor as no stat in which I have ordered and the...
just got a plastic 90 degree elbow here but not sure if its too big
threaded part is 12mm and the barbed outlet will take a 8mm internal diameter pipe....will this do or is it better to go smaller
i think someone as removed and replaced the tiller on this motor and got it out of sync so to speak as when its in the shift position the cam follower is way off from the cam roller.
i have to start it in fast position and really twist it to speed things up.
if i remove the tiller is they a...
Bought as a non runner but running now....stripped carb and rebuilt and will remove flywheel to sort the stator wobble....it's ok when engine running but up and down movement when flywheel removed ( think previous owners put the aluminium plate wrong way round) Biggest problem is the throttle...
Just picked this up as a non runner ...compression is 85/100 but could be higher now as its a runner Only issue I have is the twist grip doesn't return to slow but only shift . It looks like its not been put on properly as when you lift up the arm to show the brass cogs the gaps between the...
Restored to working condition and noticed oil was milky so replaced the o ring and the 2 seals which fit over the shafts....filled up with oil and tested in water bucket and water is still getting in.....any ideas?
