    I have a '73 6 HP Evinrude and I took it out on the water today for the first time. It ran great pulling away from the dock for about 3 minutes then it cut off.     Oil/Gas Mixture for a '73 Evinrude

    I have a 1973 6 HP Evinrude motor and I was wondering what oil/gas ratio to use. I've heard 32:1, 40:1, and 50:1. Which is it?<br /><br />Also, I have a 6 gallon tank. Is there an easy way to tell how much oil to put in the tank? Such as one or two pints of oil for every full tank?<br /><br />Jeff

    I just put two new spark plugs in my engine and it still isn't starting. The wires that connect to the spark plugs seem to be in good condition except one of the springs comes out sometimes that goes around the head of the spark plug.
