Both the rectifier and the new stator that I bought from I boats only have yellow wires. My old parts had a yellow wire and a yellow/grey wire. My manual also has the two differant color wires mentioned for hooking up the wires.
How do I know which yellow wire should represent the Yellow/Grey wire?
While testing volts at the battery with engine stopped I get 12 volts.
When the engine is started the volts go up to 13 plus.
My Rectifier is working fine right?
Thanks
A short history:) I am using a factory manual for this motor!
It is a 1973 Johnson 65esl73.
It was overheated and blew the head gasket by #2 cylinder and slightly bowed the head in the middle.

I have the T stat and the presure relief valves removed at the moment, the t stat cover is also removed.

I have the Factory manual with the wiring diagrams, but before I just start cutting wires I thought maybe someone...
Well I have been lurking on this forum for a little while reading up on all the info available here. I was given this old boat by my wifes father. It is in pretty good shape for being 38yrs old .
After reading threads here I was able to look at the boat more skeptically and I believe she will...
