are the intake gaskets on the 4.3 mercruiser the same as the automotive? obviously the exhaust gaskets are different but i was wondering about the size and placement ofthe water gaskets on the intake side. mainly because its sunday and my local boat parts dealer is closed but the autoparts...
alright, just got back 2 hours ago. got about 200 yards from launchingthe boat and it bogged down and shut off. popped the hatch and there was that greyish colored oil/water mixture all over the top of the motor where it had blown out of the top of the dipstick. got a tow back in and i sucked...
i have a 98 sea ray with 4.3 and a gen II mercruiser. it runs like a champ, accelerates great and pulls skiers and tubes with no problem until i hit a wave or large wake while under power......then the thing will act like i hit the brakes...i can put it in forward or reverse and it will move...
