While replacing my shift cables, I seem to have misplaced one of the anchors seen in the attachment as #43. Cheapest place I could find this lists it for $28 for the one small metal anchor. Seems a bit outrageous. Anyone have any ideas where I could pick one of these up?
It's an OMC control...
Does anyone know what the bolt size is for the cover on the SX-M outdrive? There's three bolts there and the prior owner must have lost one of them.
Thanks!
Hey everyone,
I have a 4-BBL Holley of a 5.8FL VP that I'm currently rebuilding. I'm having a couple of issues as I'm cleaning out quite a bit of corrosion and junk.
1. In the picture I attached, this is the electric choke module. Is this a check ball that is supposed to move? If so...
I have a 1995 Larson 214 SEI with a 5.8FLPHUE. Just rebuilt the fuel system on this boat, mechanical pump was a mess from previous owner, rust in the oil/water seperators, and bad fuel. Replaced the pump, filters, cleaned up rust and lines, rebuilt the carbs and cleaned the filters. Drained...
What is the procedure for changing the raw water pump V-belt on a 5.8FLPHUE? The service manual shows the belt going directly from the pump pulley to the crank, but there is so little room with the circulating pump pulley in the way that I'm not sure how to get this on without taking the...
Hey everyone, I'm looking for a cross reference for either a Gates or Goodyear V-belt for the raw water pump on a 5.8FLPHUE. I'd like to be able to pick this up at autozone or napa for this weekend. The Volvo part number is 3852348.
Thanks!
Re: Crank mount raw water pump conversion question
Just wanted to update this thread as I go about changing over the pump. I removed the bracket and belt driven raw water pump from the engine. Just got the crank driven pump and it matched up really well. I am thinking I will fabricate my...
I have a 5.8FL in a 1995 Larson 214. I would like to convert to a crank mounted water pump as the belt driven one seems expensive and hard to find. Is there any disadvantage to doing this?
Re: Carb Rebuild Kit for 5.8FL
Don,
Thanks for your help. Here is a photo of the part numbers on the carb. Really looks like a 3 to me, but maybe I'm not looking in the right spot.
Hi, I'm in need of a carb rebuild kit for a 1995 5.8FL. It has a Holley carb with three part numbers on the carb 3854051, 30383-1, and 2694. I see that Summit sells three different Holley marine rebuild kits (703-47, 703-33, and 703-34). I'm having a hard time figuring out the difference...
Hey everyone, I just bought a 1997 Seadoo GTX and it runs great but has a weird problem accelerating from a standstill. If I pin the throttle and try to really get on it from a standstill, the engine revs up to the rev limiter and moves like I'm towing a 300 pound guy behind me. If I let off...
Hey everyone, I have a 1995 Larson 214 SEI that I just purchased. It is in great shape, no signs of rot or any problems anywhere on the hull and the engine is clean and in great shape.
The one worry I have is that the drain hole seems to have a bit of movement when I am putting in or removing...
