OK, It took forever to correct this issue but I finally got things working.. In order for the Smartcraft gauges to offer the option of what motor to gets its data from, the gauges have to SEE both motors (STBD and PORT). On my boat, it seems that the original rigging was incorrect. By installing...
There is a manual pressure release valve that will allow the motor to be moved up or down but moving it up can be difficult depending on the motor size. The valve is a flat screw fitting hidden inside of the motor bracket usually on the port side of the motor. Watch out for fingers and other...
You can measure the resistance of the coil and compare each to the others. It is easier to use a spark tester with the coils installed and the motor cranked over (or run). No spark or weak spark should be obvious.
If you have suspected coil issues, it may help to take a look at the coils and...
Could be a bad horn or loose wire on the alarm horn.I am assuming that when you first turned the key and didn't get the horn, the gauges powered up (motor had power)
Fuel pressure by itself is not a sufficient test. You need to also measure air pressure in the injection system. It is important that the air pressure be 10 psi higher than the fuel pressure. So if air is 90, fuel rail pressure should be 80.
If there isn't a 10 pound difference and you do have...
The tank on the engine should normally be full. It should not get to a half full level. Two things will account for that: The tank on the motor doesn't know it is low on oil or the remote tank is not feeding oil fast enough to keep the engine tank full.
If you get the alarm, pull the cowling...
Was the overheat test and measurement done on the hard or in the water?
If on the hard were muffs used?
Did you see a decent pee stream?
Does the motor overheat at idle or only when run at higher revs and/or speeds?
If it runs hot at idle do the temps come back to normal when the revs are...

A master reset was performed on all 3 guages. Port tach has 'lost comm' message, Starboard engine not found. ECU (555 style) was shipped out for testing and no trouble...
