Hi I have a early 80's 40 two stroke on a bass tracker. I had the ignition module replaced last year and have just broken the starter tabs off after trying to start it. This is the second time this has happened. had it welded two years ago. It seems like it sometimes is really hard to crank...
I just found out that the "ears" from the power head lower housing that mount the starter are both broken off. This not the loose starter bracket but the one fixed to teh engine block lower section.
Is there any kind of fix for this that anyone has used to repair these?
Can they be welded...
