    cracked crank case cover help

    :redface:Made a dumb mistake removing the reed valve assembly on my 1985 175 black max v6.I went to separate the reed valve assembly and the crankcase cover with a paint scraper/rubber mallet and cracked the crank case cover,no pieces came out and it didn't chip,but left a 1 inch crack .     1993 merc 275?

    We have a 1985 175 Merc Black Max on a 22' Grady White Seafarer.I found a 275 1993 25" XL High performance w low hours for $1500.00 will this motor work on my boat and whats the differance between a reg 200 to 225 hp of the same year.Pros & cons.Seems like a good deal.:confused:

    1985 175 merc power head removal help

    I cannot pull the powerhead on my 175 merc. Removed all bolts and unhooked everything won't budge. Removed two nuts in front, two on each side in rear (4 in rear) 2 on each side on exhaust/lower case. All where nuts on studs. (10 nuts total) Am I missing something?

    05' 9.9 4 stroke oil change

    Changing the oil and filter on my buddys 9.9 2005 4 stroke. First 4 stroke. How to? Wheres the drain,filter and how much oil, havn't looked at the motor yet, is it staight forward or anything special I need to know. :confused:Also lower end is the same as 2 stroke oil change? Thanks
