Just recently purchased a 2002 four winns horizon 200 w/ a merc 5.0. Recently took it out on the lake and everything worked fine except when we launched. We launched the boat and the engine started just fine. Once i shifted into forward it would bog out and die. It did this 3-4 times each...
I had recently came across a boat with a 5.8 efi Volvo engine. Some guys on here advised to stay away from this engine since parts for the fuel engine were no longer available. Seeing a lot of Volvo 5.7 engines. Any such issues with 5.7 or should I stay away from this also?
Going to look at a 2001 Reinell 203. Looks to be in good condition. Has a 5.0 Merc with alpha 1 outdrive with 225hr on the engine. Tower, sound system, Bimini, decent looking trailer, etc. 2nd owner has had the boat 3 years. Asking price 11k.
What you guys think a decent buy?

Looking to buy a newer boat. Came upon a 2000 Maxum 1900sr with 51hrs. Has a Merc 5.0L with Thunderbolt V ignition . Was really wanting an fuel injection boat but hearing this is almost the same. Thoughts?
Spun the prop and lost it at the bottom of lake. Have no idea on pitch or any other details. Boat is a 1985 Sea Ray Seville with. 3.0 OMC motor.
Any suggestions?
