    blue streaks in drained lower unit oil

    I just drained the lower unit oil on my 90 hp Johnson, and about half of it was tinted blue. Why is this? And, is it a problem? (The rest was pure and golden, like me :) )

    How to remove the oil seals/retainers?

    I have a 1985 90hp Johnson and am resealing the lower unit. This is my first lower unit job and I can't seem to figure out how to remove the oil retainers from the bearing carrier on the driveshaft. Some help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
