    Low speed jet adjustment

Have you balanced the carbs....so all three are opening at the same time. If you have one carb opening before or after the others you wont get a nice idle .

Volvo Penta Outdrive SX-A - Stripped threads on oil fill/overflow hole - proper way to repair?

Well ya gotta do something ! 😁 And everything involves machining that hole . The stainless/aluminium thing doesnt really matter as the sealing washer will stop any water getting in to that union and there will be oil on the inside of the seal where the threads are. Use only sharp drills and taps...

Volvo Penta Outdrive SX-A - Stripped threads on oil fill/overflow hole - proper way to repair?

A metal insert would be to stop ham fisted wallys from strippin the thread 😁 . A 10mm screw would be the go , just supposing you can find one in America 😁 Drill the hole and cut the thread by hand with grease applied to drill and tap , just make sure you get it square .......not the hole ...

Black scuff marks on cylinder walls

I really think that is just 2 stroke idling , they can seem like one pot gives an extra strong firing every now and then . See if you cant find a sound track of a big 2 stroke motoX bike idling or gettin its throttle blipped and you will see what we mean 😁(even a decent sized chainsaw will do it )

Do i need to be concerned about these compression numbers yet

Numbers 1 & 3 dont look so good , and they are next to each other so maybe head gasket leaking between the two. Has it been sitting for a while ? I would do a hot comp test after you have run it a bit before reading to much into it .

    Critters in My Boat

My friend has 3 Jack Russel terriers, went there one day and the porch looked like a bomb had gone off in a butcher shop ........the dogs had got a possum and absolutely shredded it. Unbelievable , there were bits of it stuck to the ceiling

    Boats from work.

I believe that , depending on size , they are quite capable of handling rough seas, but I couldnt see you winning many races. They have a shallow draft and the keels will support the weight if your exploring tidal areas and decide to park up . The only time I sailed on Franks yacht it was a...

Black scuff marks on cylinder walls

Sounds ok to me , nice steady idle . Dunno but it sounds like its a bit rattley, more noticeable from the port side ,but it could also just be that the exhaust is unmuffled and messing with your microphone. Giving it a couple of quick revs would tell us a bit too, just to hear how it responds...

    Boats from work.

That is called a Bilge keeler. The idea being that they can be used to manoeuvre shallow water. They are not really a trailer boat , better in a mooring . I think they are designed for explorers/sailers My friends Dad built one of these in his car shed and sailed it in Lake Teanau .
