    tilt trim ?

    Ok, on the 1972 85hp evinrude, it has no tilt/trim on it. Now, if I raise the engine up I see two pistons, shocks, can I put a piston that is hydraulic in place of the shocks that are in place now? Of course removing the others first. Looking for the least expensive way out. Is that the best...

    about $450 to $500 for the after market trims,are they any good? Need one for an old 85 evinrude, can't find the one that fits a 1972 engine.Do the generic ones work? thanks, MC

    1974 evinrude V 4 cyl

    as I don't have the book on it yet, does anyone know what the small housing is that connects the water jackets from the two banks of cylender heads are? I think its the thermostat? not sure..Its about 3 inches long 2 inches wide and 1 inch high, between the two sets of cylenders..
