    Shift Linkage Question

    I have a 100 hp 1995 Johnson and I am replacing the impeller. I remove all bolts on the drive, but when i pull it down it gets hung up about an inch down, obviously the shift linkage. I was wondering how you disengage the linkage to drop the drive down the rest of the way. Thanks
