    I have a 17 ft seaswirl w/3.0L omc cobra. Will a 4.3 work with the cobra? Is it strong enough? Can I build it strong enough? Any knowledge or experience with re powering would be helpful. Thank you.

    I'm thinking about replacing my 3.0 omc cobra with a 4.3 mercruiser. I've replaced transmissions in trucks but never a boat. Is the hull mount(transom?) the same for the omc and the merc? How much work is this really?

    I am trying to remove the timing chain cover on my 86' OMC 3.0L. I've already removed the front motor mount and the water pump just to get to the timing cover.
