The pull cord on my 83 7.5 hp is badly worn but not broken. I have never had it apart. Can someone give me an overview of changing the cord ? Can this be done without uncoiling spring tension? Your help is very appreciated.

I'm installing a rebuilt lower unit in my 1996 115 2stroke Yamaha. I don't know where the shifter was when the lower unit was removed. I want to put it in with my shifter in "forward" ,so if needed I can turn the prop to align the splines. Which direction do I turn the shift shaft on the lower...
I have a 1981 7.5 merc I want to use as a kicker. My problem is; I see no way of hooking an auxiliary steering rod from my big motor at the 7.5 . Please give me some options. Thank you for any help.
