    This is the broken one, I'll be heading to the marina tomorrow to pick up a couple gaskets and the replacement part + fluid and i may be on the water tomorrow evening!!! Thanks for the inspiration to dig into it!!!

    there is a write up for adjusting the carbs on those, i believe they are set to either 1 or 2/12 turns you will need a manual to know that for sure.

    You could test your "bad" coil pack by switching it to a different cyl.

    Update:: I have dropped the lower unit. As it turns out the issue is that the shift rod / Detent assy has seprated. I found the ball but not the spring yet and the shift rod came out on the end of the vertical linkage. I got the ball out and while playing around with the assembly i was able to...

    If im evaluating correctly, the shift lever is moving its full range of motion at the power head, and the **** lever is moving up and down. So your saying that it broke off at the gearbox and ruined the entire gearbox?
