I need help. I am attempting to take the lower unit apart. Inside the housing, there is a split snap ring, about 3/16ths diameter, that retains the gears and propshaft. What tool will remove this two peice snap ring???? I have tried everything that I can think of.
Hi, I have a 1976 Johnson 40HP. I have replaced the points, condensors, and ignition coils. I want to be sure the points are opening at the correct spot. Is there a way to do this without having the "timing fixture" tool shown in the Seloc manual?
