Anybody know the chances of a 1959 35hp outboard Evinrude lower unit fitting on a 1965 40 hp Evinrude outboard?
I would appreciate any advice, or where to look.
Thanks
Mike
Could somebody please tell me the trick to getting the shift linkage lined up to put the lower unit back on a 1993 70hp Evinrude?

I pulled the pin and shoved the rod in about a 1/2 inch to get it out, and it came off without a problem.

Now I need to know which way the shift...
I've checked brownspoint.com and can't seem to find a tilt and trim motor and pump for a 1979 Suzuki 65 hp. Serial# 6501 F-10819.

I found a used trim motor off of a 150 hp Suzuki that looks the same, what are the chances that it would work?

Where else might I find one? I...
On the hood it has...
A Black top that curves down.
Silver Bottom
It has "65 Spirit" written in Black, on the silver part.
It has a Yellow and Orange stripe that goes up and across the top.

On the transom Bracket is a Tag that says

Spirit Outboard...
I was wondering what one would do, if they wanted to disconnect their VRO on a 1993 70HP evinrude.

I've got to believe that there is more then just clamping off the line.

What about the alarms, and stuff?

Thanks

I have a 1986 35HP Force with a Tiller Handle for steering, on a 16 foot Jon Boat, with a wooden floor and two fishing platforms. With three people, two batteries, a trolling motor, and fishing gear in the boat, it goes about 20 MPH.

Under full throttle I can steer the boat to the...
Hello,
Problems are a plenty with my 1986 35hp Force. Since this is a new problem, I thought I would start a new thread in case anybody else has the same problem.

My pivot shaft or whatever that has the grease zerk, was greased until I seen it coming out on top and bottom. It...
I have a 1972 Mercury 80hp. The driveshaft is rough where the seals ride. Originally I thought it was good, but now I see that it is pretty good except on one side it has a recess right where the seal rides.

I have heard about taking it to the machine shop and having it filled and...
I just acquired a 1986 35hp force the white one. I put it on my boat, and stuck it in a barrel and started it up. Nothing was coming out. I ran it until I could no longer do the 3 second touch dealio.

So, I figured no problem the motor has been sitting for a couple of years so it...
Hello,
I was just curious as how would one hotwire a 1986 35 hp Force. I have omc ignition that was being used for a 1985 force. So I was thinking I could use it for my 35hp force.

I can ohm out the switch and figure out the contacts, but I need to know what wires should be...
I was wondering if it would hurt anything to run your 1988 85hp Force without that black looking hood scoop thing that covers all 3 carbs. I guess it would be considered a breather of some sort. I didn't think it would bother anything, but then I see that there is a hose that comes from the...
I have a 1972 Merc 850 Inline 4. Serial# 3146873. It appears the idle is pretty high. The idle stops are resting on the seats, so I can't turn the idle down any further. The low speed jets are about 1 1/4 out.

The compression is 160PSI on all but one cylinder. The other has about...
I have read somewhere on here, and I can't seem to find it, about something you need to do to your honda 4 cycle 10 hp, before you troll with it.

Does anybody know what I am talking about?

I was reading that your oil could get gas or water in it, thereby seeming to "make...
Hello,

I had two questions about my newly acquired Honda 10hp 4 cycle. It says Honda 100 on the hood, and it has a dark blue bottom with a white hood.

Anybody know what year it is? The model is B100-1002738

I was told that it was really a BF100-1002738...
