I was just out boating this weekend and couldn't get over 4600 RPM. My dad had the prop repaired years ago, but I think it's holding us back. I didn't look at it when I was there but will be going back this weekend.

Well I rebuilt the carbs on my Merc 850 outboard, now It'll turn over fine. Fires if I put gas in the cylinders but won't fire on its own. Primed it until there was gas coming out of the carbs. I did notice more seemed to be coming out of the top carb than the bottom one. I'm stumped.

I am rebuilding the carbs on my dad's outboard to try and get it to run a bit better this season! I had the carbs off and thought I would check out the fuel pump. I decided against this as I didn't want to have to replace more gaskets than I need to and would ask the pro's before I moved on...
