What would the cheapest way to get this boat back on the water. I can get a bravo 1 lower unit from a friend but some wires are cut where the motor was located. it came with a 6.2 mpi. can i use a 5.7 mpi or even carburetor 350.
Default 3.7 lower noise what could it be ?
well i have the all so hated 3.7 lx 180hp and i have a noise in the lower end of the motor. any suggestions before winter so i know what kind of project im getting into.

recently bought a boat with the 3.7 lx motor 180hp. i dont know what the problem is.
1. water in oil
2. did cylinder compression test 125, 125, 120, and 130
3. hooked up a leak down tester for cooling system held 20psi w sparkplugs out
4. no power when in water
5 had compression tester...
