OK the boat will idle and go into gear at an idle. It will also go in reverse with no problems. The shifter seems to work fine( I opened it up to make sure that all was working fine in fwd and rev.) The problem is when I try to speed up in fwd. It seems to slip like its not catching into...
1985 Evinrude 40hp!!! 14 ft bateau conversion into a center console. Around 400 - 500lbs added to original weight. OMC says 12.25X15 What do you guys think? Need help

1985 evinrude 40hp. I have cleaned the carbs ran, new fuel lines, cleaned the fuel pump... I am at a loss as what to do except rebuild the carbs and rebuild the fuel pump. any ideas guys?
Where do I start... When I squeeze the bulb it gets super tight very quickly. All lines from fuel pump going to the carbs are open. Carbs are able to receive fuel be cause I cleaned them as well. It seems to me that the only thing that it could be is a bad fuel pump... Heck I dont know. Any help...
