    Is the old block off plate with two gaskets a good system for closed cooling? Do I use the Mercury permatex type gasket sealer on those?     oil pressure 1999 5.7 2 bbl

    My oil pressure alarm comes on after high speed run and back to idle. Oil pressure gage shows 1/2 way between 0 and 20 psi mark so I assume around 10 psi. Rotella 15W40 about 20 hours ago.
