    1979 Marktwain inline 6 cyl, 165 hp low flow fuel pump

    I cleaned the fuel pump last year and replaced the fuel filter. Now when I take off the fuel line going into the pump there is no fuel coming out. The fuel shut off switch is not plugged. I thought that there should be if I remember correctly. I have 3/4 tank of gas. I know the manual says...

    Lower unit water pump on 1979 Marktwain 165hp

    I have been told by a local mechanic ($90 per hour!) that I should replace the water pump in my lower unit every 2 years. Is that something that is necessary?

    1979 Marktwain, 6 cytlinder has a cracked coil

    I found a hairline crack in the neck of the coil. One of the posts was arcing to it, not allowing it to start. I wrapped it in electrical tape and that stopped it.     1979 19' Marktwain 165 hp I/O trimming

    My Marktwain has 2 up trim buttons. When on plane am I supposed to trim the lower button all the way up for better fuel mileage or should I just leave it all the way down? Will it make any difference if I am pulling a skier to tubber? thanks

    1979 Marktwain 165 hp I/O. Dying when hot

    I have had the boat out twice this week and both times after it gets warmed up it dies when shifted into nuetral. Then it will not start without the throttle pushed up nor go into gear either direction without dying. It was winterized and had the lower unit rebuilt last fall. Any ideas?? thanks
