here's my question: When i started it in a drum of water it ran great and then would shudder or try to stall, if i reved it up it ran fine, when i stopped it the drum...

JUST BOUGHT IT..
WAS OUT FISHING AND HEADED BACK TO DOCK WHEN IT DIED..GAUGE READ 1/4 TANK....HAVE SINCE FIXED FUEL GAUGE ISSUE..
PROBLEM NOW IT WON'T START.....
PUT 12 GALLONS OF GAS IN AND MY BUDDY BURNT UP THE STARTER...
