I really like that satin blue and white BWR!! Boat is looking really nice. Ive been keeping my eye out for one of these wider, longer mirrorcrafts now but they are as rare as hen's teeth!

1983 Starcraft Rivet Work of Art

Im late to the party but welcome! You got a better deal than me and your boat is definitely worth fixing! Great advice so far from the crew here. Just be careful if you do weld next to the seams since starcraft used sealant there. I would carefully drill out those pop rivets to see how bad...

    198x SS-150 rebuild

Air or electric stapler is worth every penny!! I went air. Whats next on the list?? Build starts moving fast when the floors go in.

    I'm back with a 1994 Islander 221V!

Boats looking great!! Congrats (late) on the splash!!! I really like that faux teak, have it in my boat too but yes it shrinks. As for the ATP mount, I like the easy original idea best.

Mercury 75hp on aluminum 16’ Starcraft

Thanks @jimmbo it would be great to need a 19p, and I don't have a lot of experience picking props. The trial and error method is my goto haha and its hard to find places that let you return props. I usually do not boat much lower than this because of the crowds. That lake we boat at is a gem...

    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

Man I haven't been on the forum enough lately. Life just gets busy! Last post was almost 2 years ago... Had the boat out twice so far this year. Once for a quick fishing trip, and then memorial day weekend for a camping trip. Family loves the boat, it was worth all the effort and the new...

    1986 18' Super Sport

Nice boat you got there! I wanted a fishing/duck hunting boat, and my wife got a nice lake boat that I can fish out of still lol. Looking forward to what you do to her and the platform you are starting with is perfect for your goals. Replace the transom, check/seal leaky rivets, reinforce the...

    StarCraft conversion

1/8" aluminum seems way overkill for the floor. After watching tiny boat nation on the youtubes, you could add structure underneath the floor with angled aluminum as a frame, and use thinner aluminum for the floor I think. Save a lot of weight. Nothing on a 160ss is 1/8" from the factory...

2024 Starcraft Splash of the Year Champion!

Been a busy month and somehow I missed it. Congratulations to you @DWbaseball !! Definitely earned it with all the work you did to bring your boat back to life!

    196X Starcraft Mariner 16

That was my other thought as well - fab the consoles later and get on the water the way it is now. Hopefully where you mount the seats work so thats just another variable. As far as capacity goes, I bet it's close to a 160SS given the bare hulls look identical. Other than that, no clue...

    196X Starcraft Mariner 16

A metal bender or press and some AL sheet could make consoles pretty quick. Maybe not as sharp as stock but close enough. Once the foam/floor is in you could get exact measurements for the height you want. I ran a magnet along all my ribs too, was amazed at what came out from under them.

    Decking Question

Yea TBN may be building little bass boats, but I wish I had seen it prior to my build. I may have gone all AL instead of wood. The wood may float but it is heavy!!! Mine is 3/4" so its overkill, plus it's epoxied. Interesting info @jtaggart on the wood vs AL weight, another reason to go...
