I'm considering getting a k&n filter/flame arrestor for my inboard v-8. I've heard the argument that a flame arrestor alone doesn't filter the air sufficiently, ultimately having adverse effects on the engine itself. Now are these kandn's a USCG approved item? Are they worth it?
