    Started to slip when throttling up. Will trot along but as soon as I give some gas it slips and goes nowhere. Where do I start?

    I accidentally left the cowl off the motor and it rained. Now it will not fire when I try to start it. Not getting spark. What did I do and how do I fix. Need the boat this weekend. Please Help.

    Starter removal 1976 Evinrude 70 hp

    I don't have a manual yet and I need to remove the starter to get it rebuilt. I can't get to the rear bolt to remove it. It looks like I might have to remove the carb housing. Any tricks to avoid this?
