Fuel pump went out on my 1985 johnson 120hp outboard. I wish to replace it with a non vro pump. Can anyone suggest an alternative to the vro for me?? Thank you
Motor is a 1985 Johnson 120hp. It's my understanding from what I've seen in the forums is that it has 12 points and tach setting would be for 6p. However this tach only has 1,2,3,and 4. It's set to 4 but works intermittently and I'm guessing it is reading high. What should the setting be...
This motor sounds great from about 1/2 throttle up to WOT. From 1/2 throttle down it is rough and almost sounds like it is missing. If I go from idle to WOT there is a sizable delay and then it takes off with plenty of power. One piston was just replaced and all new rings installed on others...
The tach on my '83 Evinrude 115 hp doesn't read correctly. I will read either 3000 or 6000 at WOT. Judging by ear neither of these is correct. Is there anything I can check or is this a replacement situation?
I have a 1983 115hp Evinrude which sounds like it's running rich. I do not, however see an air/fuel mix adjustment screw like I see on other outboards I have played with. Am I missing something? I have cleaned the carbs but it seems to need this adjusted.
Thank you for any help.
I have a 2000 Johnson 50 HP. It recently has started to "bog down and die" while running. It will run great the whole time if you keep squeezing the primer bulb lightly while running. Is this a fuel pump problem? It's VRO but I have mixed my own gas for several years now.
