    Steering System Rack & Pinion or cable

    I have a 17 ft aluminum v-hull with a 25' Johnson that I am converting from tiller to remote. Question is, what steering system is better, rack and pinion or cable? I am going to build my own console, I can accommodate both types. Any input is appreciated.
