Finally started working on my motor. I am in the process of removing the engine from the boat and cannot seem to get the locknut off of the shift cable where it connects to the shift mechanism on the motor. The "pin" spins when trying to unscrew the locknut. I don't want to destroy it...

My trim and tilt is the older style that has the hydraulic arms on the outside that pushes against a bracket that is bolted to the motor. The pump motor is a Calco. I am wondering if I can swap motors. It looks like the Prestolite model will bolt up? <br /><br />Any thoughts?
