    how do I install the oring on the shift rod cover?I've removed the carrier bearing housing and replaced the seals.its ready to go back in. are there any tricks i should know about the seal kit?

    140 e-rude 1981 I replaced outside seal at the prop shaft.its been ayear since waterpump replacement.they gave it apressure test at the shop last week ,said its good. I took it out for a ride and my oil is milky looking again.the pressure test only took a few minutes.I didnt put sealer behind...

    1981-140 erude needs propeller seals

    I recently had seals replaced in the lower unit.they did not replace prop shaft seals.my oil drained out gray today.how dificult would it be for me to replace prop shaft seals?I do most all repairs myself.

    I just removed the propeller from my 1981 evinrude 140.should there be side to side play? How tight should the prop be?

    rude vibrates @low rpm,s

    in the water my evinrude seems to vibrate when i start to take off.when i gun it, it jumps up and flies.would the lower unit be faulty?Ive tried three diferent props on this 1981-140hp

    correct speed

    my 18 ft Wellcraft cc V-hull fiberglass w/evinrude140hp does about 35mph @5500 rpm.does that sound right? im a little new at this.

    Engine I.D

    Puzzeled in Tampa. I got a 140 evinrude sport sec<br />ondhand.model#e140trlcim serial#j0003049 it is identical to my 81 140. iwas told the motor was rebuilt a few years ago.and that it was an 85.<br />what year is it? no # on freeze plug.does sport mean anything special?
