I bought the flywheel puller and a manual. I now have the stator in my hand. Are the ohm readings taken with the stator installed or on the bench?<br />This is a merc 135 hp V6 SN#B314929.<br />Is there anything else I need to know before replacing the stator?<br />Thanks in advance!! :confused:
What is this and can it cause me to lose spark at all of the coils? Where is it located? The manual only tells me it is there but no indication on how to check it or locate it.<br />Thanks for any help! :D
my shift lever has a button that says trailer. when I push it nothing happens. I can't find any reference to it in the manual although it has a picture of it. I disasyembled it and there are wires to it and it is a momentary switch.
I tried checking for spark at each coil. No spark. I don't have a kill switch that I can find.<br />The inline fuse checks fine. I'm thinking stator or somthing else? I purchased a manual and it gives no trouble shooting for no spark, just weak spark.<br />I think I'll be pulling the flywheel...
We were out on the boat all day, no problems. When I go to fire it up to flush the motor it won't fire. I pulled each plug wire one at a time and checked for spark while someone cranked, but none. I don't think all three coils can go bad at once. This is a v6 2cycle outboard.Any suggestions...
I have a 1988 sea ray boat it has a 135hp motor there are no indications of this being a merc except for the zinc I purchased fit. The problem is it idols fine out of the water when hooked to the hose. In the water I have to push the throttle up to start it and when I bring the controls back to...
