Fairly new to boating, 3rd season with this boat. I have 1987 Chapparrel XLC 190 200hp/v8 Mercurser Alpha 1 I/O. Two questions:
1- Boat is slow from start, takes ~ 10 seconds to plane which stinks for skiing. Have gone to 19" pitch prop and use high test gas which helped. Any ideas?
2- Notice...
I notice an oil/gas sheen on the water when I shut down my boat. Not sure if related but a little smoky when I start it cold as well. Any ideas where to look for leak, if that is what it is? I didn't find anything yet but will look closer now that I have pulled it out of lake for the season...
