Can you tell me if my 1986 E25ELCDR has a primer start??
I am the Englishman who has problems starting the engine after a run. It was suggested by the forum that I replace the float and needle etc. Its difficult to pick up Evinrude spares for old outboards here in England but there is one...
My evinrude 1986 25hp starts fine , runs well but if I anchor up for an hour or so it will not start again. If it does it only runs unevenly until it is put into gear and cuts out as soon as revs are applied. Also the squeeze ball on the fuel line between tank and outboard is 'soft' and does not...
TODAY i TURNED THE IGNITION KEY (BOUGHT YESTERDAY!) AND THE ENGINE STARTED.. RAN IT SLOWLY FOR A WHILE THEN TOOK IT OUT ON THE RIVER FOR HALF HOUR.. NOT ONE PROBLEM.. I WOULD LIKE TO SAY A BIG THANKYOU TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE HELPED ME GET THIS ENGINE GOING. AND FOR YOUR PATIENCE WITH MY IDIOT...

There are three bolt holes on 'handle' is this the type that requires a clevis pin/ and transom mountes tube??
Also would my Autolube 100:1 fuel tank be suitable for the 50: 1 mix you suggested, if so.. can the oil feed...

O.k I finally have sussed where everything is connected to (i Hope) including the battery leads (thanks Rick)
I will attempt to start the thing but what is the correct starting procedure,???
Are there any buttons/valves/switches that need to be altered/...
How (where) do I connect the two battery leads to the engine??
I have bought a CLYMER manual but it does not explain the basics of setting the engine up to start.

Just bought this outboard with cables /throttle lever etc. but no idea of how to put it all together, will be able to work oout cables etc but need help with electrics.. battery size, what is the red multi pin connector inside the hood connected to etc.. a big question...
