    I have a 2002 mercury 125 2+2. I really not good with engines. I'm just curious of what are people opinion on the average cost of carb rebuild. Dyi and average marine tech. Outboard runs great top end but can be difficult to start and wants to stall at idle even running for awhile.

    The 70 has been giving me issues and no mechanic has been able to correct it. With the 70 I get around 31mph on glass water. However it's a wide boat. Almost 90 in beam.

    I have a 2000 sylvan expedition 1600. Currently it has a 99 johnson 70hp on it. It's rated for a 75hp but the same model in years before and after are rated for a 90hp. What issues would there be upgrading to a 90hp?

    1999 Johnson 70hp stalling at top speed

    Looking for some advice. Took the boat out and when I go full throttle I'm up on plane fast, I get to 5000rpm and run wide open for a few minutes maybe 1/4 mile. Then it's like the throttle gets pulled right back and it stalls out. Ang suggestions?

    I just picked up this old 15 hp johnson. The guy told me it was stuck in forward gear. I was able to start it and when it fired I did see the prop full spinning. It was set in nuetral, so any ideas on why its not in nuetral?
