i have a 1960 merc 400 and had no water coming from from hole in side of engine, so i ordered a impeller and removed my lower unit. I connected my hose to the copper pipe coming down from the engine and turned the water on hoping it would come out the the hole on the side. instead i what i see...
Hello I recently acquired a 1648 flat bottom with a 1960 merc 400. The motor seems to run very good and it has a 3 blade 10" pitch prop. I would assume that it should be able to get up to about 30mph, but currently it tops out at 16. Is there any thing I should be looking at in particular?
