Thinking I might try boating one more time. Last boat ended up a bust,was told it ran but needed new bellows long story short it need's bellows and engine and doing a repower(inboard) on a trailer in the driveway with no room won't be happening. The wife is REAL happy. So what do you guy's...
Does anyone know if i can swap a 898 mercruiser(in a 1984 4 winns santara)with a mercruiser 228 around the same year? Will it be just a swap or will i need to do mods? Thanks 4 your time
I'm in the middle of a bellows,shift cable job on a 84 4winns santara with the 898 engine. My question is since i put the boat in forward and removed the shift cables to remove the out drive will i still be able to turn to engine over by hand (breaker bar on crankshaft nut)? Thanks
I have a 84 4winns with the alpha outdrive off for a transom seal kit, my question is there any advantage to doing the water pump with the outdrive off? I would rather do it back on the boat if its the same. thanks
I Just Picked Up A 84 4winns Santara With A Dual Battery System, My Question Is Do I Need Both Batteries To Try And Start The Engine? The Boat Is Still Wrapped So I Don't Really Know What I Have Yet. Thanks
I just picked up a 1984 4 winns 20' santara 206 cuddy and i am not sure of what exactly i have. I can't find or there isn't a tag on the engine and the decals on the outdrive are real hard to read. The flame arestor say's 898 on it, i believe the transom ser# is 6816709 and the outdrive decal #...
