    trouble starting

    Hello My boat has trouble starting.Tonight I tighten up some wires in the ignition and went to turn it over and notice the neg battery cable got smoking hot.Never done that before.Any and all ideas welcomed.I have a force 85hp and I believe the year is 85. Thank you

    have spark but won't run

    sound like it is missing 85 -85 outboard

    Hello When I start it up it runs fine.I go to put it in gear and it stops running.I let it warm up(15 min) or longer an it well finally go.When it is going it sounds like it is missing an after a while it well clear up and run fine

    Throttle Cable for a force 85

    This may so silly but could tell me a throttle cable is to long.Also the problem I am having is that it does not want to accelerate at first.My friend mess aroung with it and know it doesn't have netrual but well start to acelerate.     Throttle linkage

    On my throttle linkage I have two plastic pieces.They have a place to screw the metal piece into on both ends.It also has the set nut on both ends.Does anyone know what the distance from the end of the threads to the set screw?It is a 85 force. Late 80,s Thanks Mark

    I was wondering what you call the linkage that connects the the tie bar.If you have a Seloc repair manual the thing is barly shown on 4-9 fig 19. it at the bottom of the tie bar.In fig 19 it is the thing that goes off the page to the left. Thanks Mark
