    Yamaha 115 four strock runs out fuel at half tank

    I am sure this isn't a outbaord problem, but wasn't sure were to post. I have a 2001 Hurricane GS 201 deck boat. It has 52 gal. gas tank with very poor access. The Yamaha 115 runs out of fuel right at 1/2 tank. I thought the gas gauge was bad so I slow filled tank until I had gas running out...

    Johnson Carb Soaking

    My Johnson / Evinrude Service Manual says, (NEVER CLEAN A CARBURETOR BY SUBMERGING OR SOAKING IN HOT TANK OR CARBURETOR CLEANER). This manual is for 60 thru 75 models. Most of the posts I have read say to soak in carb cleaner. What should I do, soak or not? My out board is a 1988 Johnson 70...
