I have cleaned both ends of the battery cables and all the connections at the starter solenoid, alt, etc.
I don't think I mentioned this before. They whole electrical system shuts down, and does not come back until I turn off the key.
I have a 1997 Mercruiser 3.0XL. The last few times I have had it out, it has been dying on us. There are a few things going on:
If any accessories are turned on, they run for about 30 seconds and then whole boat dies. (does not matter at what RPM or if it is in gear)

As I took the carb off to rebuild it I noticed that there is what I consider a lot of oil buildup coming from the oil breather tube to the spark arrester. 1997 3.0XL.
Is this normal? This is my first one inboard/outboard so I am not sure what to expect.
Engine does not seem to be low.

Got the carb number and called Mikes. Got the kit on the way. Still not sure what carb I have but is was not the standard kit.

I am trying to find a good rebuild kit. I don’t want to try to Decipher the crap on Amazon to find a good one, and I can’t figure out which kit I need from west marine.
Anyone with experience or know what kit? I would greatly appreciate it, as right now we are on land, and I believe that boats...
Been using my boat with a 3.0 this summer and this week it has started hesitating when trying to accelerate. It will straight die if I don’t punch the throttle at least 3/4 wot. This happens in neutral or in gear.
what I have done:
new fuel/water separator filter
new spark plugs
new gas
new...
I thought that this might be a fill hole for the lower unit oil but I don't see any threads in it. When the engine is running water pours out of this hole. Can anyone help me identify what this hole is for.
