    difference between rectifier part #

    why would rectifier part #78614 be around $70, and the 816770 be around $35? The only diffence noted is that the first one is for serial # 4112634 and below, the 816770 is for serial #4112635 and up. Is there that much difference in these two rectifiers? these are both for 6 cyl. inlines...

    stator or rectifier for charging problems?

    74 merc 1150 wont keep battery charged.<br />is this likely the rectifier, or the more difficult to change stator?<br />can they be tested while on the motor, or do they need to be removed and/or disconnected to test?<br />thanks :)

    '74 1150 Locks up in Reverse

    74 Merc 1150 wont start without Starting Fluid
