    early 80's 4.5 mercury ignition problem

    Im using a cordless drill with the plug grounded and the spark seems intermittent, its there and then its not.Thisis the 1 cyl engine with yellow coil, Is this the right plug for this motor buhw-2,same as my 90 hp? Anyone have the ignition test specs so I can determine the fault,thank you

    I bought one of those 180 $ merc ignition sub-assembly from crowley,got the last one they said ,had broken/missing trigger arm,otherwise looks great. I've read Daremo's posts but his motor is the jet,whereas mine is a1991 90hp 3cyl,same animal no? Ill use my old trigger( which checks out)...

    water in lower cylinder causing idle rpms to increase

    my 91 merc 90 3cyl has a blown exhaust gasket and water got in the lower cylinder,im waiting for the replacement gaskets.my question is would this cause therpms at idle to increase to 1800 rpms, is it somehow trying to compensate for the 3rd cylinder not igniting.thank you

    difference between wme-10 and wme-19 carbs?

    1991 90merc with wme-19 carbs and .066 main jet size ? 90mercs also come with wme-10 and .072 jets. Is jet size the only diff.between these carbs are these fuel saver jets ? should I get the bigger jets to be sure not to run lean. thank you
