Ok got the thing running good with batt. cdi to conventional coil etc.. thanks to all that helped!... got any ideas on how to crank up the gen/alt to keep up with the draw of amps???? and i think i could use a diagram of my carbs model of engine is vxl-14b serial# j2864995. i have to squirt fuel...
i have read most all the last 3 yr's post over this , and can not help but wonder if one of you all have masterd it.... 3 biggest concerns were coil overheating, and too high amp draw for long battery life, and points burnout was minnimal....i remmember working on one of my cycles, dual pickups...
I have read a lot of bad feedback on this unit, and am looking at replacing the one on my 68 evinrude 65 hp vxl-14b. but want to know if anyone has had a "good" experience with this system first.Mite mtake motor back and demand refund( since it is 10 yr's older than advertised and 15 hp higher too.

any body no where i can find a diagram for this monster?..i have this tiny switch underneath the flywheel left side, ( standing behind boat). that is actuated by throtle movement, has one male connector each side. the front connector has nothing to it, the rear tab traces around to bottom small...
on a 1968 65 hp V-4 i have no spark everything connected. put 12v rapidly on and off, to coil input, and no spark came out of heavy lead coming out of coil, + test wire got overly heated....turned motor over with (blue) lead and ground with ohmeter set to test volts and no jumping occured while...
