    used lower unit housings?

    The lower unit housings on my 150 opti's are corroded beyond repair.I've priced new ones from merc and was wondering if there was a cheaper solution.does anyone know of a supplier of used housings

    cold start

    when first started my 2000 150 optimax revs up and down for a few minutes before settling down to a normal idle. What would cause this?

    lower unit corrosion

    The way my boat sits the scags and part of the lower units are always in the salt water. recently when I pulled the boat out I noticed alot of corrosion and pitting, some areas quite deep.Is there a way to repair this. Also what would have caused this. the motors are 2000 Merc 150 optimax.
