I just rebuilt my carbs on my 1976 850 and it is idling at 1800 rpm when I put it in gear the motor runs great so my question is do I just need adjust the idle/air screw
I just rebuilt my carbs on my 850 thunderbolt but I lost the fuel bowl vent jet for the top carb I have ordered a new one but I want to know if I can run the motor without it till the new one gets here
I have a 1976 mercury 850 thunderbolt with no spark. I ran the boat about a month ago it cranked up fine and ran good for about 5 minutes then it just lost power and would only stay running in neutral. This weekend i tried to start it and it would just spin over checked for spark on all four...
what is the purpose of the mercury switch. My book doesnt tell anything about it just shows it in the wiring diagram. I have a 1976 mrecury 850 and i found the mercury switch with a wire broke on it. The motor also will not stay running while in gear wondering if this could be the cause
I have done a search on the forum and came up empty. Today I saw a greenish colored oose coming from the switchbox. Sorry for the vague description it looks like oil leaking from the top of the box but when you touch it its very thick and sticky what would cause this and what is it
