I recently picked up a 83 Evenrude 150. I got it home fired right up no water out of the pisser. So I did a water pump replacement still no water out of the piser. Pumps water out of the lower unit slots just fine. Ran motor for about 5 mins. No water out of the pisser but the heads were nice...
What is the purpose of having a "hook" in the boat hull. I have wonder that
and was interested in knowing why would you put "hook" in a hull that you would think should be flat and smooth.
I have tried starting this motor several times. I can kinda keep it running
if I spray carb cleaner in it. I have taking the carbs apart and completely cleaned them. They were clean to begin with, but jest redid it. Any ideas on this would be greatly appreciated. I am at a loss.
Yesterday I was out working on our boat and grabbed the prop shaft and was spinning it. I noticed that there is a banging sound when the prop shaft is turned. What could be causing this as this does not seem normal.
Thanks
I am looking for a prop for my 72 100 hp Johnson outboard.
It is supposed to have a max of 5500 RPM has a gear ratio of 13:26. I have
not got to run this motor yet. The prop on it is pretty trashed but is a 3 blade
13 1/4 x17 . The boat it is going on is 16ft pretty lightweight speed/ski boat...
I have looked and looked and trying to figure out the fuel consumption
of this motor so I can then purchase the correct fuel tank to keep me going for
hours on the lakes. I always planned on taking a 2 gallon reserve/emergency
can with us but I really would like to get a idea so I can then...
I know what the title says it is, but other people have said no way that
it is really a Sidewinder (like the title says). It is a 16ft boat, has a 1972 100 hp Johnson (maybe get you into the year range). So what do think it is? I really don't care I just want more info on it if I can figure it out.
I have searched has anyone rolled and tipped a metal flake paint
before and had good results? I ask because I saw a killer paint at the
auto parts store that has metal flake in it and it would finish off my boat quite
well. Or is it best to spray this paint on?
Anyway let me know your opinions...
I just picked up a 16ft boat and thanks to the previous owner
neglecting a roller on the trailer there is a spot on the hull that is slightly
soft (about the size of the quarter). I would like to fix this spot just to be
safe. I read around here last night and there was a lot of good...
